Conservation, Wildlife and Arboriculture Level 2 at Capel Manor College

Course description

Do you have a passion for the outdoor environment, its preservation and protection? Do you love animals? If yes, then our new exciting Conservation, Wildlife, and Arboriculture course is for you and will provide you with the foundation you need for your future.

This one year course will give you an introduction to countryside management and the knowledge required to manage habitats and wildlife and maintain plants. You will gain an understanding of the health and safety requirements of the industry, the importance of teamwork and complete work experience in the industry.

You will choose a pathway to follow in more detail during the course:

Tree Surgery
You will learn the skills of chainsaw use and climbing, to allow entry into the field of woodland habitat management and tree surgery.

Or

Wildlife Conservation
You will learn the skills of estate management and plant and animal husbandry.

Future opportunities

Successful completion of this course will enable you to progress to a Countryside Management Advanced Diploma (Level 3), Arboriculture and Forestry Advanced Diploma (Level 3), an Advanced Apprenticeship in Environmental Conservation (Level 3), Advanced Apprenticeship in Trees and Timber (Level 3) or employment at an assistant-level in the countryside, conservation or tree maintenance industries. This qualification will be ideal if you want work in the countryside or tree maintenance industries.
