Travel and Tourism AS level at The Thomas Aveling School

Course description

The course covers many aspects of Travel and Tourism and has strong vocational links. 

Throughout the course students will develop knowledge and understanding of the way the Travel and Tourism industry is organised, structured, financed and operated within local, national and international contexts. They will improve their knowledge of major European and long haul destinations for tourists including marketing and customer service in Travel and Tourism organisations.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 5 GCSE passes or equivalent at grade A* - C.

 

Future opportunities

The course will prepare students for further studies at university or for entry into employment in Travel and Tourism.  Employment opportunities include working in travel agents, tourist offices, direct selling of travel products, transport providers, visitor attractions and tour operators.
