Psychology A Level at Newlands Girls' School
In studying Psychology, you will develop your skills of analysis and evaluation. We will teach you to deal with conflicting theories, consider evidence and draw conclusions. You will strengthen your communication skills, both written and oral and learn how to form a structured and considered argument. You will learn about people, what they do and why they do it. This will be useful in any life situation that involves dealing with other people
If you took Psychology at GCSE, you need to have achieved grade C or above. If you did not take GCSE Psychology, you will need to demonstrate your commitment and interest in the subject as well as having at least grade C in Science and Maths.
You will sit two exams for the AS level
For the A level you will sit 3 exams in the summer.
At AS you will have mini tests every lesson, at A2 you will write regular essays.
