Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) *FEES PAYABLE* at St Mary's Senior School

Course description

The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) provides an exciting opportunity for students to explore topic areas which may be completely outside their A Level studies or will complement them quite closely. Students identify, design, plan and complete an individual project of their choice. The project can take the form of a written report, performance, artwork, compact disc or even a community project. Whichever form a project takes, it must be accompanied by a written report as well as a log of the learning process and the student’s reflections upon it. Throughout the process, each student is supported by a supervisor who acts as a guide and mentor. The EPQ gives students an unrivalled chance to develop their academic research and writing skills whilst exploring a keen area of interest. EPQ study may be pertinent to a student’s future university specialism and will help support any university applications. Most importantly, an EPQ helps students to develop further the independent learning skills that are essential for successful undergraduate study.
