Electrical Installation Study Programme EAL Level 2 Diploma at Derwentside College

Course description

This qualification allows the learner to acquire knowledge and craft skills of electrical installation.

It will give the learner an opportunity to practice and be assessed in a secure environment on the installation of wiring systems together with the relevant theory of electrical installation.

The learner has the opportunity to utilise the IET On-Site Guide with some of the units and also acquire the knowledge of electrical science and principles.

Course content

This Diploma has five mandatory units, which between them cover health and safety, electrical installation theory and technology, electrical installation methods, procedures and requirements, electrical installation craft skills and electrical science and principles.

Entry requirements

Applicants should have either a Level 1 qualification or 4 GCSEs at Grade D, which may include English Language, Maths or Science.


The assessment involves on-screen examinations, practical assessments and a theory assignment.
