The course is a mix of taught lessons, practical activities and individual work.
The minimum age for this course is 16 years. Applicants must have reasonable skills in communication, keyboard skills/computer awareness, good time management and study skills and also the ability to research individually. A reasonable standard of English (spoken and written) is also needed. Students are required to have the following communication and numeracy key skills as a pre-requisite to this course. You will need to answer/ask questions in writing, proofread and correct mistakes, give and/or follow instructions, understand written questions/assignments and keep your own notes/records sorted. Your numerical abilities will include performing addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and using decimals, fractions and percentages.
During the course, assessments will be made through practical activities and completion of assignments.
All candidates must complete a College online application form.You will then be asked to come in for an interview as well as take an English, IT and Numeracy assessment. Learners who are unsuccessful at this stage may be directed to the BTEC Diploma level in IT.
