IT BTEC Certificate Level 3 at Gloucestershire College

Course description

This course offers a specialist qualification that focuses on meeting the industry standards of employment within the computing industry and covers the key knowledge and practical skills required in the vocational sector.

Course content

Year 1

(equivalent to one AS level)

  • Communications and employability skills for IT
  • Computer Systems
  • Database Design

 

Entry requirements

Our new entry criteria are based around the average GCSE scores required to study grouped subjects.

The subjects are divided into three groups each requiring a different minimum average GCSE score.

The average GCSE score will have to be generated from a minimum of SEVEN academic GCSEs  - with at least 5 grade Cs including maths and English within this SEVEN

  • This subject requires an average GCSE points score of 4.8 points
 

Future opportunities

Successful completion of this programme can lead to rewarding careers in software development and the mainstream IT industry, or generates UCAS points for university
