BTEC National Applied Science (Single) - Block B @ The Leigh Academy at LAT16 Leigh

Course description

Designed for learners who are interested in learning about the sector

alongside other fields of study, with a view to progressing to a wide range of higher education courses, not necessarily in applied science.

To be taken as part of a programme of study that includes other appropriate BTEC Nationals or A Levels.

 

 

 

Course content

● Principles and Applications of Science

● Practical Scientific Procedures and Techniques

● Science Investigation Skills

● Topic 4: Able to select one from a range of 8 units

 

 

 

Entry requirements

5+ GCSEs A*-C (9-4)

Grade 4 in Mathematics

C in Double or Triple Science

Assessment

Unit one is examined through a one and a half hour written exam. Unit 2 is assessed internally through practical assessments. All optional units are assessed internally through the completion of assignments.

This course will prepare you for an Undergraduate degree course at University.
