The BTEC Diploma attempts to study a wide selection of topics and integrates many different activities and ways of learning. By doing this, it allows students to gather a range of skills throughout the course and the ability to apply these skills in a practical way. It also incorporates a number of different opportunities to learn outside of the classroom and partake in numerous business trips, alongside leadership courses and organising their own business enterprise events.
You do not need to have studied a related KS4 subject to choose this subject. This is a demanding course and therefore candidates will need to have exemplary time management and independent working skills.
Year 12 and 13 – Complete eight units based upon the specification provided, this will include 6 mandatory units and two optional. Three of the mandatory units will be externally assessed and five will be internally assessed.
The solid foundation of this course will enable you to study Business Studies at a higher level, either at Hampton College or elsewhere. It does complement other subjects very well and can lead into a variety of different pathways for career progression.
Business Studies links particularly well with Maths, English, Sociology, IT and Geography.
