IT Practitioners BTEC Extended Diploma Level 3 at Weston College

Course description

Ever wanted to be a games designer, website designer, computer programmer or software engineer? Or perhaps computer graphics and animation is of interest to you? If this is the case, then this is the study programme for you. Using the latest technology you will produce professional websites, create and manage computer networks, program applications and games, and have the opportunity to resolve real life business problems with our real life employer-led challenges. By the time you finish this study programme you will be head and shoulders above other job-seekers.

This study programme covers a broad range of topics including: website design and management, software design and development, developing computer games, IT technical support, network management, principles of computer networks, impact of the use of IT on business systems, organisational system security, digital graphics and computer animation.

Entry requirements

Five GCSEs at grade C or above or a Level 2 qualification.


Observation of practical activities, group work, presentations, coursework and examinations.
