Computing at Shaftesbury School

Course description

This course gives a general grounding in computing, including an understanding of computer systems, the principles of programming, and the solving of problems. This qualification will enable students to develop the capacity to think creatively, innovatively, analytically, logically and critically. This new specification has been revised to include greater emphasis on programming and removal of topics entirely ICT based.

Entry requirements

General entry requirement for Level 3 is 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C incl. English Language and Maths. Subject specific entry requirements: Grade B in Maths and Grade C in English and IT (if taken) or interview with Head of Department if IT not taken.
