Being prepared for the world of work, developing your independence skills, enhancing your social skills and fostering a valuable role within the community can all be big steps to take. Futures at Rotherham College will guide and support you to achieving these goals and more.
You’ll have the opportunity to learn in small groups within our specialist facilities at both our Town Centre and Dinnington Campus. While studying with us you’ll gain hands-on experience from being involved in a variety of enterprise activities. Rotherham College will work with you to ensure your English, maths and ICT skills are the best they can be.
Through our Next Steps Passport you will widen your skills and have the chance to take part in extra activities to prepare you for the world of work. We will make sure that you are on the right course for your ability and aspirations and we will make sure that you have the support that you need to succeed.
The Independent Living in the Community course will develop the skills you need to use your local community as independently as possible. During the course you will learn about the local facilities and services. You will find out how to keep yourself safe when out and about in the community and you will learn about the different people who make up the community. While studying with us, we will work with you to ensure that your maths, English and ICT skills are the best that they can be. Through the Next Steps Passport you will widen your skills and have the chance to take part in extra activities to prepare you for the world of work.

•You will study in the specialist areas at our Town Centre Campus and at the campus in Dinnington

•We work with other agencies to develop work experience opportunities
There are no formal requirements but you must be able to work in a small group with support.
