Introduction to Cabin Crew Intermediate Certificate at Derby College
If you are interested in exploring the potential of a cabin crew career, this one-year course is for you. It is designed to give you an overview of cabin crew roles, the opportunities within the sector, the potential career progression and the skills needed to succeed in a fast-paced industry.
You will also take part in a team building day - as team work is crucial within the sector - and will hear from guest speakers representing some of the largest air travel organisations.
The course also includes visits to airports and the chance to undertake live job applications.
During the programme, you will develop your knowledge in:
- Introduction to airline operations
- Role of air cabin crew
- Airline health and safety
- Airline emergency procedures
You will also develop your maths and English skills, which will support your main programme of study and help your future progression.
You will need to have a minimum of four GCSEs at grade D or above.
Assessment will be carried out using a variety of methods, including role play, presentations and activities. There is also an exam linked to airline operations.
You can progress to the Diploma in Travel and Tourism.
There are wide-ranging opportunities within the aviation sector, including cabin crew and ground support services.
