Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) CACHE Level 3 Diploma at Darlington College

Course description

The CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (EYE) qualification is a full time programme run over eighteen months.

This qualification prepares you to become an Early Years Educator, which enables you to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years.

Upon achievement of this qualification it is intended that learners will be able to enter the workforce as Early Years Educators.

Anyone wishing to apply for this course must also complete the suitability declaration form which will be sent to you at the point we invite you to interview.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs grades A*-C including GCSE maths or English or an appropriate Level 2 childcare qualification and a satisfactory school report.
You must also supply details of two personal referees who are not relatives and the college will formally write to them to obtain up to date references to support your application.
We will also request a school or college report and you will need to attend an interview at the college.


You will be assessed by your tutor through a range of methods. This could include direct observation within the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments.

Complete a longitudinal study set by awarding body and demonstrate competency in a real work environment.

You can join the work force as an Early Years Educator.
