Children’s Play Learning and Development BTEC First Diploma Level 3 at Grace Academy

Course description

This Course is designed for students who want to work in the Early Years Sector. BTEC’s are vocationally related qualifications where learners develop knowledge and understanding, applying their learning and skills in work related contexts.

These qualifications give underpinning knowledge of child development and related theories. By completing this course you will gain a broad understanding and knowledge of the early years, develop essential skills such as observation, assessment skills and reflective practice skills.

You will also need to attend a work experience so that you can put theory into practice.

Course content

Modules

BTEC Level 3 National Certificate in Children’s Play Learning and Development.

BTEC Level 3 National Subsidiary Award in Children’s Play Learning and Development.

Two core subjects: Unit 1: Child Development Unit 2: Play and Learning

180 guided learning hours

BTEC Level 3 National Award in Children’s Play Learning and Development

Five Core Units and one optional.

360 guided learning hours

Entry requirements

GCSE Grade C English and Maths

Assessment

Unit 1 – Externally set and marked.

Assignments, coursework, placements and a portfolio of evidence.

By completing a one year course you can go on to complete the National Award in Children’s Play Learning and Development
