Electrotechnical Studies Diploma Level 3 at New College Stamford
Master your expertise in electrical installation and gain an understanding of testing and inspecting to a professional standard. You will study the design of electrical systems, electrical regulations, testing, inspecting and fault finding in our brand new industry standard workshops.Successful completion of this course will allow you to progress on to the final stage of becoming a NVQ qualified electricianin significantly less time.You will have the opportunity to visit the Construction Trade Fair at the NEC in Birmingham, as well as other trade based events. You can also take part in regional and national competitions such as World Skills Build which has seen the very best in Construction compete for over 45 years.This course is approximately 80% theory and 20% practical.
You will complete work books and assignments using online resources. You will begin to demonstrate independent learning skills and continue your professional development with a Construction work placement. Throughout this course you will also have the opportunity to complete many community projects, preparing you for work in the industry with on-site experience.
Electrical Installation Diploma Level 2 or equivalent.
You will complete practical assessments at your own speed ending the year with a practical timed assessment. Theory assessment will be completed through online tests.
On successful completion of this course you could progress on to the HND in Construction and the Built Environment at University Centre Stamford or other Electrical Engineering Degrees at University or an Advanced Electrotechnical Apprenticeship.
You will require a uniform consisting of steel toe capped boots and overalls which can be purchased from our website. During your interview you will also sit an online suitability assessment. The result of this, plus your previous academic achievements and maturity will determine the level of course you are offered.
