What does the course involve?The Religious Studies course is divided into two sections;1. Christianity2. IslamAs part of your study of these religions you will investigate:• Their principle beliefs and practices• How each religion is organised, and their sources of authority• The festivals which they celebrate• Important stages in life• Family relationships• Prejudice, discrimination, wealth and poverty• Matters of life and death, suffering and evilHow is the course assessed?The course will be assessed through 2 pieces of coursework and 2 examinations. One from Christianity and one from Islam.Exam = 80%Coursework = 20%Coursework = 20%

Future opportunities

You could take this course to prepare for advanced level courses such as an A/AS Level in Religious Studies or you may need to strengthen your grades by completing a foundation or intermediate vocational qualification.With further training, you could go into a job related to religious studies or the more general social sciences such as a Social Worker, Teacher or Youth Worker.You could also go straight into employment and do further training or part time study with the support of your employer.
