Art A Level at Corfe Hills School

Course description

We are looking for you to really develop your own ideas and to convey your passion about an area of Art that interests and intrigues you. Year 13 is really a stepping stone towards university.

Course content

In the second year you will be able to continue with your chosen area of study and create more in-depth coursework as part of Unit 3. For this you will develop a question that you will answer both visually through your practical work and also written which will include a 2000 word essay. 

In Unit 4 you will be given another externally set assignment to create ideas in response to one of the eight exciting starting points you will be given.


Unit 3: Personal Investigation (30% of A Level). This unit and will be handed in at the end of December. You will cover all four of the assessment criteria which are AO1, AO2, AO3, AO4.

Unit 4: Exam (20% of A2). An exam unit for which you will receive an exam paper, this will start in February and be handed in May. You will sit a fifteen hour exam over three days. The exam is the final part and will be at the beginning of May, all of your work for this unit will be handed in at the end of your exam.
