You have basic knowledge of travel and tourism, and dream of a jet-set career working in a fast customer-facing environment, but want to gain advanced skills and hands-on experience to propel you to success.

Course content

This course will equip you with a range of personal skills and techniques essential for successful performance in both Higher Education and working life. You will study a range of modules, including: Customer service in Travel & Tourism; The business of Travel & Tourism; and The UK as a destination.

The Level 2 Diploma in Air Cabin Crew course is incorporated into this course, enabling you to gain all the skills needed to pursue a career working as Cabin Crew. You will develop your skills and knowledge in airline health, safety and security, as well as dealing with passengers on board an aircraft, making passenger announcements and selling techniques.

This course will prepare you for an exciting career in Air Cabin Crew. Not only will you become equipped with the array of customer service skills and knowledge needed to succeed, but you'll gain a thorough understanding of the industry and a Thomas Cook Airlines Certificate on completion.

You will study a series of modules, including: Airline health and safety; Dealing with passengers; Making passenger announcements; Effective customer care; and Team working and communication.

You will also complete a period of work experience as part of your course.

Entry requirements

Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including English Language and Maths; or a Merit in a Travel qualification at Level 2 along with Cs or above in English Language and Maths. An interview with the course tutor and a reference from a personal tutor are also required.

Assessment

Assessment is coursework based including oral exams, practical demonstrations, presentations, reports, role-play and observations.

Future opportunities

Progression into Higher Education courses or employment include: Air Cabin Crew, Airport Baggage Handler, Holiday Centre Manager, Tourist Guide or Travel Agent.
