Course description

Have TV programmes like Masterchef and The Great British Bake Off inspired you to think about a career in catering and hospitality? Our courses will give you the skills you need to get there. Everyone enjoys going out for a meal, and you know yourself, we all expect good service. We’ll show you how to deliver exceptional standards in what can be a fast-paced but enjoyable working environment.

Course content

By training and working in our Oasis Bistro and Infinity restaurant you will be trained to industry standard by our experienced tutors. Developing an understanding of the industry, you will gain skills relevant to your course whether learning to prepare and cook dishes, delivering top quality service and/or leadership and supervision skills. Whilst working in a commercial kitchen you will need to wear a uniform, and you will also need a catering kit and a text book.

Entry requirements

You will need a relevant Level 2 qualification and good practical skills in either food production or food service skills.


You will be assessed continuously throughout the course and you will also need to produce a portfolio of work.

Future opportunities

After this course you could move on to a foundation degree in a relevant subject or take up an apprenticeship or employment in a pub, hotel, restaurant or the leisure industry.
