Music at Notre Dame Roman Catholic School
You will develop your key skills over six modules learning about, harmony, performance, interpretations and musical understanding, across the music from early to popular styles.You will study a jointly taught course with Devonport High School for Girls. Each delivers specific modules and your timetable will take you to study in both of these TLP bases. The first two modules in each year are assessed by your teachers and moderated externally by the examination board. The third module is assessed completely externally. You will perform a short recital for AS (5/6 minutes) and for A2 (12/15 minutes) in any style and either ensemble or solo (or mixed) programmes. You will work individually and with others using ICT to develop your skills in these modules.Course Module are:Year 12: Listening and Appraising, Composition and Appraising Music, Performing and Composition. Year 13: Developing Musical Understanding, Performing Music and Composing Music
5 GCSEs at grade C or above including Music grade B or above or equivalent performance skills. An interest in music performance and composition for further education. This A level will develop many of the key skills.
