The mandatory units are Manage you own resources, provide leadership for your team, develop productive working relationships with colleagues, and ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety. In addition to the Certificate, you will also be required to complete functional skills in English, Maths and ICT at level 1, an Employment Rights and Responsibilities workbook and Personal Learning and Thinking Skills
The Intermediate Apprenticeship in Team Leading has been specially designed for team leaders (with limited authority for managing resources) who are often in their first supervisory role. It helps them to motivate their team members and achieve agreed outputs. The qualification aims to give participants an opportunity to develop the core competences needed by the team leaders of today, and to enable them to become the managers of tomorrow.
Although there are no formal entry requirement, you must be able to demonstrate your competence in a real working environment and be in a
supervisory role. By definition, you may be a Team Leader, Section Leader, Floor Manager, Helpdesk Manager, Supervisor or many others
This Apprenticeship qualification is assessed in your own workplace and you will be allocated an Assessor who will visit you to carry out observations of your work and help you to identify relevant evidence of your competence in work
The QCF Certificate is also available commercially to those who are not eligible for funding at a price of £1100 +VAT.
To access this funding via Acacia Training, applicants must be working under a contract of employment with a local employer in the South West Region
