Warehousing and Storage Level 2 Apprenticeship at Lancaster and Morecambe College

Course description

As an Apprentice you really do get the best of both worlds; you will earn a salary and gain real experience in the workplace with your employer and work towards a nationally recognised NVQ qualification. Apprenticeships are suitable for well-motivated people who are focussed and know which career path they want to follow. They offer high quality work-based training as an alternative to full time study. This programme is aimed at people who are employed, or are seeking employment. You will need to be 16 years of age or over. Apprenticeships are available at level 2 and level 3. 

Course content

• Employment, for a minimum of 30 hours per week, with training in the workplace • Assessor visits in the workplace every 3 – 4 weeks • Functional Skills level 1 or 2 • Employment Rights and Responsibilities Level 2 Apprenticeship covers: • Health, safety and security at work • Develop effective working relationships with colleagues in logistics operations Plus a range of optional units

Entry requirements

No formal qualifications are needed but you must be able to work independently and show evidence of good skills in practical subjects. You will be asked, at interview, to do a basic assessment to prove that your English and maths is at level 1. 


This course is continuously assessed in the workplace by portfolio building, on the job assessment, presentations and some exams.

Training for Apprenticeships is currently fully funded; however this is subject to change. 

Further information

On successful completion of your apprenticeship you will receive City & Guilds level 2 certificate.
