Travel and Tourism BTEC Level 3 at Benfield School

Course description

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for you to study towards a specialist work-related qualification which focuses on different aspects of employment in the Travel and Tourism industry.  The course covers the key knowledge and practical skills required in the sector and is designed to give you a throrough insight into the Travel and Tourism industry.

Course content

You will study the following: investigating the Travel and Tourism sector, the business of Travel and Tourism, the UK as a destination, customer service plus a small selection of optional units.

Entry requirements

Candidates are expected to have 5 GCSE grades A* - C.


The units are inernally assessed and graded by teachers. These assessments are in the form of assignments, projects and practical activities based on realistic work situations.  Grades awarded are Pass, Merit and Distinction.

Future opportunities

The programmes are valued by employers and Universities and Colleges.  There are opportunities allowing employment in a variety of sectors within the Travel and Tourism industry as well as progression to Higher Education programmes.
