Creative Media Production BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma at Coulsdon Sixth Form College
The College's Subsidiary Diploma in Creative Media Production is a practical vocational course aimed at students wanting to develop a range of research, creative and production skills in television, computer games development, radio and print media. Students will cover radio and television advertising, music video and print production. They will also have the opportunity to create and develop a broad media portfolio to enhance their university or media career prospects.
Students will enjoy this subject if they like to learn through practical, hands-on assignments and relish working in a diverse range of media productions.
During the course, students will have the opportunity to cover the following areas of media:
- Music Video Production
- Film Studies
- Communication Skills
- Computer Games Story Development
- Computer Games Design
- Radio Advertising Production
- Television Advertising Production
Students wishing to do BTEC Level 3 courses, need to have (or expect to achieve) at least four GCSE passes at Grade 4 or above including English and Mathematics (and a satisfactory school reference) in order to be accepted on a BTEC Level 3 Programme.
The course is assessed through coursework. Students achieve points from their completed units. These points are added together to form an overall grade.
This course provides a useful background for academic or vocational courses at university, including Ravensbourne and/or employment in Media industries eg production companies, PR, Advertising, Music industry or teaching/lecturing in Media.
