Vocational Studies - BTEC Entry Level 3 Diploma at City and Islington College

Course description

Interested in a career in business or retail but lack the formal qualifications to take your first step? This course is a practical introduction to the world of work and also tops up your skills in Maths and English to increase your employability.

Course content

This course will extend your knowledge and understanding of the business world. You will take classes in business, travel and tourism, and ICT, plus Functional Skills in Maths and English.

Entry requirements

No formal qualifications are required. You will need to have a good reference from your school or employer, demonstrating a good attendance record. Your interest in the subject will be assessed during an interview at the College prior to full enrolment.


Assessment is based on coursework. There will also be tests in Maths and English to demonstrate your understanding.

Financial information

For 16 – 18 years old’s this course is fully funded.

This course has been designed to put you on the fast-track to a Level 1 vocational course in the field of your choice, whether it's business, computers, media, science, or art and design.
