Physics A level at Haileybury Turnford School

Course description

The course is split into 6 teaching modules.
Module 1: Development of Practical Skills in Physics
Module 2: Foundations of Physics
Module 3: Forces and Motion
Module 4: Electrons, Waves and Photons
Module 5: Newtonian World and Astrophysics
Module 6: Particles and Medical Physics

Entry requirements

A student needs to have achieved an average of level 5 in 5 GCSE subjects.  At least BB in their Double Science GCSE examinations or B in Physics Triple Science to seriously consider attempting further studies in Physics. You must also have a minimum level 7 in Mathematics.

Future opportunities

You may study Physics, Science, Engineering, Astrophysics and even Aeronautical Engineering or Astronomy at University and can lead to careers involving Physics, Astrophysics, Astronomy, Nuclear engineering, Engineering or careers in aerospace. And who knows you may even get to work in Area 51!
