Course description

What are the days and times of the course? Two days a week - 9:30 - 4:30 What Qualifications will I get? City & Guilds Level 2 N/SVQ for IT Users (ITQ) Which Units will I cover? • Mandatory unit 201 – Make selective use of IT. Evaluating, review and evidence decisions on selective use of it. Finding and organising information, Reviewing own use of IT, give and receive peer feedback. Produce clear, relevant and appropriate information to suit specific purposes. • Unit 206 Internets and Intranets 2 Optional: Search, find and evaluate information on the Internet and Intranet using appropriate methods, techniques and more advanced features. Customise browser software. Exchange information Evaluate benefits and drawbacks of Internet; connections, opportunities, resources, security issues, laws and guidelines. • Unit 207 E- mail 2: Send and receive emails using more advanced features, formatting, add signature, use address book and other facilities available. Identify common problems; how the law and guidelines affect the use of IT. • Unit 213 Powerpoint: Create professional presentations to be viewed in a real work environment, on which will be reviewed and feedback given. • Optional under-pinning knowledge: Excel, Access – not assessed What else could I do on the programme The Edexcel National Test for Literacy and Numeracy will be offered at Level 1 or 2. If you have not received a Literacy or Numeracy qualification or equivalent in the last five years then this will be a compulsory part of your course. How is the learning Marked/Assessed? Portfolio building and assessment in a realistic working environment. Please Note Optional Modules to be discussed and agreed with tutor. ELATT reserves the right to alter curriculum content and timetabling if required.

Entry requirements

L1 knowledge of IT office applications. We also run a L1 course to prepare you for L2.
