Business BTEC Level 2 Certificate at Herefordshire & Ludlow College

Course description

This is a practical, work-related course that will teach you about business, customer relations and financial control. You will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.

The course will introduce you to various areas of employment and provide you with a good basis to progress to a more advanced workrelated qualification.

There is the option to study Level 2 Art & Design alongside this course.

Course content

You will cover a diverse range of topics throughout your course. A selection of business unit titles is shown below:

  • Personal and Business Finance including Bookkeeping
  • Working in Business Teams and Team Leading
  • Business Support or Administration
  • Personal Selling
  • Running Businesses Online
  • Enterprise and Business Start-up
  • Retail


Entry requirements

A minimum of 4 GCSE Grades D to E, including Grade D in English and Maths.


The emphasis of the course is on ‘learning by doing’, which involves assessment by projects, case studies and assignments. Local visits and work experience will also be included.

Future opportunities

You can progress to BTEC Level 3 Business, apprenticeships, or employment in the business world.
