Countryside Skills Entry Level at Warwickshire College Group

Course description

This course is for those leaving special or mainstream schools or re-entering education after a short break. You will be given the opportunity to develop skills in a small group working at a pace suited to your individual needs. This entry level course will assist you in the development of personal, basic and vocational skills. Opportunities are available to improve independence, self confidence and prepare for future employment or further education.

Functional Skills / English & Maths

City & Guilds Awards 

Course content

Units Include:

  • Functional skills - Maths & English 
  • Horticulture
  • Citizenship
  • Animal Care
  • Preparation for Adulthood.

You will also have an opportunity to study vocational subjects such as cookery.

Further units may include:

  • Art and craft
  • Enterprise activities
  • Personal development
  • Work skills

Work experience is also available

Entry requirements

Selection will be by interview and candidates will be assessed for their ability to achieve.

Assessment

Continual assessment, portfolio building and assessments for Maths and English under exam conditions. Special arrangements for exams can be requested.

On successful completion of this course you may wish to work towards the Ready for Employment Course or Level one Courses . You will find that these courses will enhance your employment opportunities.
