Internally assessed

The knowledge that you gain from this unit will allow you to understand that positive care practice relies on practitioners having a comprehensive understanding of the diverse society we live in, and that the promotion of a care value base can enhance services users' opportunities in accessing services. On completion of this unit you will understand that organisations and society have a responsibility to protect and safeguard the rights of those who are vulnerable, and that the only effective way to do this is through formal policy and legislation.

How will I be assessed?

Each unit is assessed either internally by means of coursework or externally through an examination.

The proportion of assessment is 1/3 examination and 2/3 coursework.

Coursework units are assessed by your subject tutor and then moderated by the exam board - Edexcel.

Examinations take place twice a year in January and June. The duration of exams is 1 hour and 30 minutes.
