Course description

iMedia has been designed to provide a route into, or further development of skills in, a wide range of job roles within the dynamic interactive media industry.

Course content

Aims of the course:

The qualification aims to:

develop candidates knowledge of a range of different software applications

develop the ability to use different applications effectively to meet a customer's specified requirements

develop candidates ability to manage information

develop candidates ability to plan and prioritise tasks effectively

develop candidates skills and knowledge in contexts that are directly relevant to employment situations

Entry requirements

Students applying for this course will have to have a basic knowledge of both hardware and software of a computer system.

Future opportunities

Students may go on to work in, or prepare for, roles/work activities such as the following: Web design, graphic art, multimedia production, flash animation, 3D animation, sound design and editing, special effects, video production, logo/titles design, desktop publishing, games design, storyboarding.

This is a useful stand alone course but can be complemented by graphics and art courses as well as other ICT subjects.
