Course description

What’s it about? BTEC Travel & Tourism gives you the knowledge and skills needed for the travel and tourism industry, as well as transferable skills that apply to all industries. It focuses on education and training for employment in travel and tourism, or to progress to a university degree. You will learn about different destinations throughout the world, how travel and tourism businesses are organised and run, and the importance of providing excellent customer service.

Course content

Year 12 Certificate - Modules Unit 1: Investigating the travel and tourism sector Unit 3: The UK as a destination Unit 7: European destinations.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grade C or above including, a C in English, as well as a strong interest in geography and places.


100% coursework.

Future opportunities

Employment in the travel and tourism industry in the hotel, airport and aviation, leisure attractions or hospitality industry, or a university degree in travel & tourism, travel & tourism management, international tourism management, international tourism business management, tourism and events management, travel and adventure media or cruise management.
