Philosophy and Ethics at The Marlborough School

Course description

The AS-level topics below introduce students to Philosophy and Ethics:The Study of Philosophy of Religion: Students study different arguments for the existence of God and investigate the question of why there is evil and suffering in the world. Students examine different scholarly definitions of miracles and consider if miracles happen.

Ethics: Students consider how we make ethical decisions and how we decide what is right and wrong. Students also explore a range of ethical dilemmas.Investigations: Students complete an in-depth investigation of one philosophical or ethical topic. For example; medical ethics, the relationship between mind and body or religious experience.

Entry requirements

GCSE English at Grade C or above
