Travel & Tourism BTEC Level 3 Diploma at Alsop High School

Course description

Travel and Tourism relies on friendly, confident and professional people for it to be successful. If you are an inquisitive, enthusiastic, and hardworking student you will love the challenges that this course brings.

You will enjoy using ICT to prepare written reports, PowerPoint presentations, posters and leaflets. You will enjoy working independently and in groups and will be excited about developing your ‘people skills’ through role plays and presentations.

Course content

This course consists of 12 units of study over 2 years (6 per year). All of the units are assessed through coursework (no exams).

The course has been designed to enable you to develop an understanding of the Travel and Tourism industry so that you will appreciate the impact it has on peoples’ lives around the world. We aim to take you out of school as often as possible to experience the industry for yourself which greatly benefits your coursework.

Liverpool is one of the UK’s most popular cities for tourists. It has a wealth of hotels, visitor attractions, travel consultancies, tour operators and transport companies.

Travel and Tourism in Sixth Form will give you skills to prepare you to go straight into work, or if you would like to carry on studying there are a range of university courses including tourism, events or hospitality management.
