CISCO CCNA Level 3 at Shoeburyness High School

Course description

This is a two year course designed to train students in computer networking administration. Students study the following areas: CCNA 1 – Introduction to Networks; CCNA 2: Routing and Switching Essentials; CCNA 3: Routing Protocols; CCNA 4: Connecting Networks. Each area is split into modules which are accessed via online examinations and through practical lab activities. At the end of the course students will be ready to take the external industry standard certification examination which will give them Cisco Certified Network Associate status.

During this course you will be expected to complete lab books and study guides related to the practical work.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grade C or above including English and Mathematics grade 5, Science, GCSE ICT C grade or above would be desirable. An interest in computers and ICT is essential.


You will be assessed by online testing and practical laboratory skills tests. You will be required to pass a final practical and theory examination at the end of each CCNA Semester.

The CCNA course is designed to provide students with classroom and laboratory experience in current and emerging networking technology that will empower you to enter employment or further education and training in the computer networking field. Successful students who attain the CCNA external qualification have the potential to be high earners in the field of ICT where salaries can start at £20,000+ for newly qualified CCNA students.
