Course description

Nationally recognised qualification in advanced hairdressing. 

Course content


  • creative colouring
  • colour correction
  • consultation
  • creative cutting of women’s hair to create a variety of looks
  • creative styling
  • style and dress hair to create a variety of looks
  • create design skills
  • perm hair to create a variety of looks
  • plus optional topics in hair extension services and bridal hair.

Entry requirements

Hairdressing Level 2 NVQ, VRQ or equivalent.

You must have undertaken work experience in a salon at Level 2 and will be required to show evidence of this.

You must be employed part-time in a salon. You will also need GCSE grade C or above in English and preferably also in Maths or Functional Skills Level 2 - if you don't have this you will need to undertake it during the course.

You will need to have at least 88% attendance from the Level 2 course and maintain it on the Level 3 course.


Practical demonstrations, oral and written online tests and assignments..

Financial information

Educational visits form an an important part of the course and cost approx £30. Other costs are approx uniform £60, kit £55 and course book £35 plus on line support.

Future opportunities

You could move on to a careers as a fashion stylist or work on the cruise ships.
