Dance at Cardinal Newman Catholic School

Course description

This Dance course gives students the opportunity to experience and develop both performance and choreography as well as engage in critical thinking about dance across a variety of contexts, genres and styles. Furthermore, Dance helps students develop a healthy lifestyle in terms of physical and mental well-being by promoting creativity, exercise and training.

The A-level can lead to further study of Dance in Higher Education at both Degree or HND Level. Dance can also be used as part of a varied programme of A-level studies, broadening your skills and understanding and giving you more options in terms of pursuing a career in the performing arts field. It complements a range of other subjects and is useful in developing skills in communication, working with others and improving independent learning.

The equivalent of atleast five GCSEs at grade C or above
