IT Users (ITQ) OCR Level 1 Cerificate at Havering College of Further and Higher Education
You will work on your ability to manage documents and data in a variety of applications through practical & theory based lessons.
Throughout the course you will cover the following topics:
- Desktop Publishing
- Using a Database
- Using the Internet
- Using E-mail
- Presentation Software
- Spreadsheet Software
- Website Software
- Improving Productivity
- User Fundamentals
- IT Communications
- Design Software
- Imaging Software
- Word Processing
If you have not yet achieved a grade C (or above) in GCSE English and maths, you will be required to attend GCSE resit sessions (if you achieved grade D) or functional skills sessions (if you achieved grade E or below).
There are no formal qualifications needed for this course. However, you are likely to progress from one of the following:
- An Entry Certificate in Skills for Working Life
- Life Skills or other Entry level qualification
You will be assessed via a portfolio of your written and practical assignments. There will also be online testing to assess your key skills.
You could progress onto our level 2 ICT course or one of our many BTEC first courses.
Employment opportunities could include an entry level IT role within commercial or industrial companies.
