Preparation for the Police Service VTCT Level 3 Diploma at North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College
This is a one year full time course that will be of interest to anyone who is thinking about joining the Police.
The course is a mixture of practical and theoretical units that include; Protection of Self and Others, Physical Fitness for the Police Service, Joining the Police Service, Community and Neighbourhood Policing, Dealing with Police Incidents alongside the Certificate in Knowledge of Policing.
Entry requirements for this course are at least one of the following: 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above including one from English, Maths or Science; BTEC Level 2 Diploma (pass level); Mature candidates will be by individual interview.
You will be assessed by a range of methods which will include an interview, assignments, case studies and other relevant assessment methods
You will need indoor and outdoor sports kit/footwear
We offer a bursary that students can apply for help with costs that are associated with a course. This could be help with the cost of travel, books, materials, equipment, uniforms, childcare and examination and registration fees. Throughout the course you will also be given advice and guidance on successful entry to the Police Service by an experienced team of tutors. If you are interested in this qualification you should contact the college to arrange an interview.We are now in partnership with Warwickshire and West Mercia Specials, being recruited to the Specials is part of the course if students so desire it. We are actively looking to recruit new students this September and will get them to apply to become a Special at the same time as starting the course.
