Spanish at All Saints School
The advanced study of Spanish leads the student into an exciting new world of contemporary issues and ideas as seen from the context of the Spanish speaking countries. Students develop their ability to understand and respond to important issues that affect society, at home and abroad. In doing so they foster effective study skills that make a positive contribution to their advanced level courses. ‘A’ level Spanish follows a multi-media approach to learning with the newer technologies playing an important role. Up to date technical and visual materials combine with a clear progression of language development to ensure that students’ proficiency is built up in a carefully structured yet stimulating way.
Students work in a variety of modes; comprising individual, pair and group work and whole class activities. Whenever appropriate students are encouraged to take part in events organised by outside agencies, and if possible to spend a period of time in a Spanish speaking country. Topics studied during the course range from music and fashion to world poverty and immigration.
