Brickwork Level 2 Diploma at Oaklands College

Course description

1 year full time Level 2 Diploma Award. Core units are: Handle and store materials, Work efficiently. The Trade units are: Setting Out, Constructing Walling Detail plus Health and Safety. Functional Skills in Maths and English will be incorporated into your course along with Personal and Social Development (PSD).

Course content

You will enhance the skills acquired during the Level 1 course. You will further develop your bricklaying skills with more experience and knowledge increasing your awareness of the construction industry and options for future qualifications and employment

Entry requirements

Completion of the level 1 Brickwork Diploma award. Three GCSE at grade E or above. An aptitude for practical skills and a good work ethic

Having successfully completed your training on the Level 1 Diploma in Brickwork the Level 2 Diploma Award is your natural progression. This course will help you get work in the construction industry. You will produce a portfolio of work to show future employers.


The course is assessed with practical modules and unit on-line exams and assignments. Students will sit two end of year exams in Brickwork & Functional skills & will have the option to sit the CSCS Health & Safety exam (additional cost for CSCS exam if the learner requires it).

Financial information

16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.

Future opportunities

On successful completion of an Level 2 Diplomathe natural progression is to continue developing your skills with a Level 3 diploma or an NVQ work based qualifaction
