Entry requirements

The first week of the course is an introduction which will assess your skills, knowledge and commitment to the course. On completion a review will be undertaken with you and the course tutor to agree the most suitable progression route.

You will need English at level 1 to successfully complete the course work and you will be supported to achieve that if necessary.

Learners will be expected to complete written work at home and will need to practice all treatments in-between sessions.

Students are assessed whilst working on paying clients in a realistic salon environment.  All practical achievements are recorded in candidate log books.  Theory work covers working practises and procedures, anatomy and physiology.  There are a number of written test papers to be completed as part of the course.

As part of the awarding body’s quality assurance processes you may be required to attend on a different day or centre than your normal lesson.  This would happen a maximum of twice per year when the external verifier visits and you will be given approximately 2 weeks notice.
