Performing Arts Level 2 Diploma at Tresham College of Further and Higher Education
On this course you will develop your practical drama and musical theatre skills in order to develop a broad understanding of the demands of the performing arts industry.
You will work alongside industry professionals to enhance your skills in acting, singing, dance, rehearsal techniques and devised and scripted work. Additionally, you will learn about the importance of a professional approach to your work. This will include regular practical assessments where you will showcase your skills in a variety of genres and attend workshops.
A minimum of four GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade D or above including English and preferably maths, OR a relevant Level 1 qualification with equivalent English and maths.
Coursework is assessed at regular intervals and you will receive written feedback and guidance.
You will be expected to purchase all stationery and any specialist materials relating to your chosen area of practice (loose fitting black clothing for performances). There will also be trips to performances to enhance the curriculum (usually two or three per year) which cost about £15 each.
This course will prepare you for an audition for the Level 3 study programme in Acting or Musical Theatre at Tresham.
