Course description

This course is aimed at school leavers and those wishing to have a career in the Hair and Beauty Industry.

Course content

  • Consultation
  • Facials, Eyelash and Eyebrow Treatments
  • Waxing
  • Manicure and Pedicure
  • Shampoo and Condition the Hair and Scalp
  • The Art of Dressing Hair
  • Cutting Women's Hair
  • Colour and Lighten Hair

Practical work takes place in Creations Hair and Beauty Salon, a purpose built professional salon, providing a realistic working environment where treatments are performed on paying clients.

Entry requirements

Applicants should have 4 GCSEs at grade A –D, have good communication skills, an interest in hair, beauty and fashion and take care with their appearance. Level 2 Certificate in creative hair and beauty Studies/ level 1 diploma in hair and beauty an advantage.

Assessment

Students will be required to carry out practical assessments, written assignments, oral questioning and short online tests.

Future opportunities

Hairdresser, beauty therapist, spa therapist, colour technician, nail technician, make-up artist in film and television, barber.
