Information Technology(BTEC Level 3 Certificate or Subsidiary Diploma) at Hastingsbury Business and Enterprise College

Course description

BTEC Level 3’s are qualifications that are designed to provide specialist work-related qualifications in a range of sectors. The Level 3 BTEC National in Information Technology gives learners the knowledge, understanding and skills that they need to prepare them for employment in the ICT sector as well as meeting the necessary level 3 standard of education required for Higher Education study.

The BTEC National Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma course in Information Technology is not an examined course, but instead allows students to build up a portfolio of work that includes evidence of learning outcomes and marked assessments for each unit of study. The evidence could be in the form of a written report, a witness statement from an employer, an observation from a teacher, a presentation to the class, a recording of an activity. Students must pass the required number of units to complete the course. They will receive a grade of Pass, Merit, Distinction or Distinction* for each unit and a final, overall grade at the end of the course.
