Course description

Choosing Media Studies will allow you to integrate theoretical and practical approaches. You will learn about a broad rabge of new media which dominate the contemporary landscape, in addition to concepts of language, representation, audiences and institutions.

Entry requirements

5 A* - C, band 5 in English Language or Literature and preferably a grade C or above in GCSE Media.


70% Exam - end of year 2

30% NEA - cross media production

Future opportunities

This course teaches students a range of transferable skills, both practical and analytical.

Though useful in many contexts, the skills developed will enable students to progress into further/higher education and careers in media production, journalism and film.
