Creative Media Production BTEC Certificate/Subsidiary Diploma at Barr's Hill School and Community College

Course description

Media students have the opportunity to study a subject that is both academic and creative.  As well as studying film, television, magazines and other aspects of media, you will be expected to plan and produce a series of productions at industry standard level. 

In Year 1, students will study:

Pre-Production Techniques for the Media Industries, Communication Skills for Creative Media Industries; Advertisement Production for TV and Stop Motion Animation Production.

In Year 2:

Research Techniques for the Media Industries; Factual Programme Production Techniques for Television and Corporate and Promotional Programme Production.

GCSE grade C in English

Future opportunities

Following this course, you may choose to progress onto a degree or HNC/D in media or business related areas, or employment within the Media industry in careers such as animation and film production.
