Army Preparation Course Level 1 at Stoke on Trent College

Course description

This unique course is delivered in conjunction with the Army and runs for 1 year. It will thoroughly prepare you for basic training through a wide range of activities. It includes intense fitness training with qualified Physical Training Instructors and classroom tuition on various military related subjects which, on successful completion, lead to recognised qualifications. In addition there are military visits, adventure training and a one week compulsory residential course which will give you a taste of what life is like for a soldier in today’s Armed Forces.

Course content

Entry requirements

2 GCSEs grade E-G, Entry Level 3, or another relevant Entry Level qualification. You will have a pre-induction interview/assessment to make sure this is the right level for you.

Assessment

The course is assessed through a series of workbooks. To complete the workbooks you will be required to take part in all activities so that you can record and describe your experiences and evidence what you have learned.

Future opportunities

Entry in to the Armed Forces, or potential for progression onto a related Level 2 course.
