Sales and Telesales Intermediate and Advanced Apprenticeship at Grimsby Institute

Course description

Good salesmanship involves helping customers to buy a product or service to meet their needs.

As a job, this involves meeting people, building relationships, addressing challenges, being creative in offering solutions and thinking independently.

As an Apprentice you could find yourself working in a range of sectors. You may be, for example, a Sales Adviser in a retail store environment, or a Membership Advisor in a health and fitness club.

Businesses realise the importance of Salespeople – most people earn commission, and in some cases bonuses if they exceed the targets set to them. Sales people have to abide by ethical standards that reflect their professionalism.

Their training will focus on the ability to remain calm under pressure and be able to handle rejection gracefully…with the motivation to try again when the opportunity  arises.

Entry requirements

Most occupations require a minimum of grade C in English, Maths and ICT, although some only require a minimum of grade D.

Some occupations within the Engineering sector will require Science at a minimum of grade C.

A Vocational Assessment may have to be taken and passed for some Apprenticeships before acceptance onto the programme.

Assessment

Training is delivered in the work place and an Assessor will monitor your progress
and conduct assessments
